Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs: Advice to Young People.

Young Jesus discussing with the Jewish Elders in the Temple

To acquire knowledge, you must have reverence for the Lord. Stupid people have no respect for wisdom and refuse to learn. As a young person, listen carefully to what your father and mother tell you. What you learn from them will improve your character and make you a better and respectable person.

When evil people invite you to join them in the commission of crime, do not go with them. They may say to you; “lets go and find someone that we can attack and rob. Or attack some innocent people just for the fun of it. We will share all the spoils that we get from our adventures. We will fill our houses with riches.” Do not go with them. Stay away from them. They are quick to commit crime and are ready to rob and to kill. Dissociate yourself with them. Even a bird will stay away if you set a trap for it while it is watching you. But people with these evil intent are setting a trap for themselves by doing evil. Robbery never fails to claim the life of the robber. Anyone who lives by violence will die a violent death.

Pray for yourself and your brothers, sisters and friends that you may not be tempted to follow the path of those who will lead you to destruction. There was a time when the world was full of kindness and well wishes and less violent. At that time there was enough food for all. Amen!
